Moved to www.dana-illustration.com/blog
Hey Folks, if you're checking this blog out and wondering why I haven't updated in so long, it's because I've moved all of my blogging to a single place on my website at :
www.dana-illustration.com/blog
That's where I'll be updating from now on, and this site will be shut down after a few months.

Veteran Portraits
I haven't updated in a while, so here are a couple of the portraits I've been working on for my Veteran Portrait project. I don't want to release too many shots before the show is ready. Work has been slow, but steady, and hopefully everything gets done for the preview show in November. The full show (planned to be 25-30 pieces) will open sometime early to mid-2013. These are not professional photos, just snapshots in my studio.

Are
you a United States
Military
Veteran,
or
do you know one?
I am currently engaged in an RACC
funded project to create a series of portraits of military veterans
for exhibition in the 4th quarter of 2012. I am looking
for veterans willing to model for this project, and would only need
an hour of time to take photos. All participants would receive a
framed print of the final painting.

Devil and the Deep opening, Changes to Pricing
Well, here's my long delayed update on the show : it went great! We had the medium sized gallery packed for the full 4 hour opening, and I raffled off some great prizes. Was a lot of fun, here are some photos from the event:
Also want to point out that my pricing has increased a bit; I lowered my prices quite a bit in 2011 to see if it would increase the amount of commissions I would receive. I ended up getting about the exact same number of commissions as previous years, just less money! I guess you can't just will more people with an interest in portraiture into existence. So I'm raising my prices back to a little under what I was charging in 2010 and earlier. Basic price guide is on the right.
